Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. First year in our own house, I got excited about decorating and having trick-or-treaters. Neither one really turned out great.  Thankfully my mother in-law always has some fun craft or decorating idea in the works, so she helped me make some cute "jack-o-lanterns" from canning jars.  Then the trick-or-treating was left to two bowls on our front porch so I could run to Rena's house and see her kids dressed up, and show off mine and the pups 1st costume.

I made a rookie mistake in thinking that individually wrapped bags of carrots called "scarrots" were cute, making one of the bowls a healthy option.  As you can guess not a scrap of candy was left when I got home and half a bowl of "scarrots" remained.  When I went to retrieve the bowls I could hear the last group of trick-or-treaters outside and stopped just in time to hear their disappointment, "No they're both carrots.  Yep, they're all carrots."  Ha ha, oh well, half the bowl was still gone so someone ate some carrots and the rest made for good work snacks.

Since Halloween was on a Sun. this year we got to do the regular Halloween night on Sat. then go to Logan to have a family Halloween party and joint b-day party for my in-laws Lexie and Grandma.  It was a lot of fun, we played traditional games like "musical chairs" and a donut eating contest.  My little family dressed up as the story of Little Red Riding Hood, with our little Keeta as the leading lady.
Oh and earlier in the day I finally got to carve a pumpkin. I decided to try more of a sculpting technique after my dad showed me pictures of pumpkins that a man sculpts each year.  I even convinced Marcus to try it too, we made a couple of scary pumpkins.

On the way to Logan Jasper really showed how tolerant he's become of Keeta.

First time Bloggers

Each journal that I own is blank from at least the middle on. So as I've heard more and more about blogging it seems this may finally be a way for me to keep a record of my life. For starters I'm 2 1/2 yrs shy of 30, have been married to Matt for a little over a year, and have two very silly puppies.
